A type of device in the material handling business that could be utilized to raise and move loads from one location to another is known as a forklift. Each and every part of a forklift has a particular function. Different parts can be used to transport the load either vertically or horizontally.
Mast
The parts utilized to lift and lower the load is called the forklift mast. There are different kinds of masts for raising loads to various heights: simplex, duplex, triplex and quad.
Power Supply
Forklifts have four different ways of being powered: gas, electric, propane and diesel. The battery is located within the cab underneath the seat. The propane tank is situated on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is under the rear of the truck.
Cab
Located in the middle of the truck is the forklift cab. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the controls and informational gauges. The gas pedal, steering wheel, brake, lifting controls and tilting controls are all situated within the cab.
Frame
The truck frame carries all the largest components of the forklift, like the counterweights, that are located at the back in order to prevent the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame includes the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the wheels, driveshaft and axles.
